JUBILATION RESIDENTIAL CENTRES INC .

HISTORY

Jubilation Residential Centres Inc., also known as Jubilation Program, was incorporated as a non-profit, charitable organization under the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan on September 21st, 1990, and received charitable status from Revenue Canada-Charities Division on January 28th, 1991. The charity's business and charitable number is 13255 2274 RR0001.

Officially started in the early 90's, for about the initial 4 years, Jubilation Program operated a residential centre for pregnant teens/adolescents and young single moms with children. The house operated without any governmental financing for the initial 4 years and was closed due to financial pressures.

The Board of Directors decided to continue on an "outpatient" basis with the services described below.

Within the last decade, while still continuing to serve young pregnant women, young parents and children, the organization has started to design and deliver highly specialized programs to various target groups within its own clientele :

  • 2004 - 2010 - vocational programming to individuals on the Prince Albert Methadone Assisted Recovery Program (many clients were sex trade workers)
  • 2004 - current - provision of single family dwellings to single moms and older single women in two squatter communities in Peru
  • 2004 - current - with some partners, provision of micro-finance services to young women in South Sudan, also including the setting up of a soap making manufacturing enterprise operated by women
  • 2010 - current - in partnership with Metis Local 269, a highly specialized case management program for the homeless called Homes for the Homeless
